September 30, 2026 — Cobb students are setting their sights on the future—and the latest SAT results give families another reason to celebrate.
The Class of 2026 earned an average SAT score of 1116 out of a possible 1600, outperforming the average for Georgia public-school students by 85 points and the national average by 105 points.
Georgia students surpassed their national counterparts for the ninth consecutive year, earning an average score of 1031 compared with 1011 nationally.
Once again, Cobb students finished well above both. The district’s results reflect the accomplishments of students preparing for college, scholarships, and opportunities after high school. They also provide an opportunity to celebrate the teachers, counselors, and families who support students throughout their education.
“These scores are more than numbers. When Cobb students finish well above the state and the nation, we are not just celebrating a test - we are celebrating young people who are ready for college, scholarships, and the lives they are working so hard to build. Their success is Cobb’s success,” said Cobb Schools Board Chair Randy Scamihorn.
High Scores and Strong Gains Across Cobb
Walton and Lassiter led the district with average SAT scores of 1255 and 1204, respectively, followed by Wheeler at 1193.
Sprayberry, Campbell, and North Cobb also delivered strong gains.
Sprayberry’s average rose from 1060 to 1077, Campbell’s increased from 1083 to 1102, and North Cobb’s climbed from 1048 to 1067. 
In total, eight Cobb high schools exceeded 1100. Joining Walton, Lassiter, and Wheeler were Pope (1181), Kennesaw Mountain (1132), Harrison (1130), Campbell (1102), and Hillgrove (1102).
Progress extended throughout the district. Pebblebrook, Hillgrove, Allatoona, McEachern, and Wheeler all posted higher averages than in 2025.
With nine schools increasing their scores and South Cobb holding steady, 10 Cobb schools maintained or improved their performance.
Cobb students averaged 569 in evidence-based reading and writing and 547 in math, with each section scored out of a possible 800 points.
